Aston Martin hace historia este fin de semana al regresar a la categor\u00eda principal de las 24 Horas de Le Mans, en su edici\u00f3n 93. El hiperdeportivo Valkyrie, desarrollado en colaboraci\u00f3n con The Heart of Racing (THOR), marca el retorno de la marca brit\u00e1nica al escenario donde logr\u00f3 su \u00faltima victoria absoluta en 1959.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El CEO de Aston Martin, Adrian Hallmark, destac\u00f3 que la participaci\u00f3n del Valkyrie es un momento clave tanto para la marca como para los fan\u00e1ticos del automovilismo: \u201cLe Mans es la cima del automovilismo de resistencia. Es justo que la clase Hypercar incluya un Aston Martin que despierte pasiones\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los dos Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH del equipo THOR presentan una decoraci\u00f3n especial que rinde homenaje al legado brit\u00e1nico, incluyendo una bandera del Reino Unido en la aleta del motor. Adem\u00e1s, la marca anunci\u00f3 la creaci\u00f3n del Valkyrie LM no homologado para clientes, junto con un programa de desarrollo para conductores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Valkyrie LMH es el \u00fanico coche de la clase Hypercar derivado de un hiperdeportivo legal de calle y compite tanto en el Campeonato Mundial de Resistencia (WEC) como en el IMSA estadounidense. Su chasis de fibra de carbono y motor V12 atmosf\u00e9rico de 6.5 litros, desarrollado por Cosworth, ha sido adaptado para cumplir con la normativa de 680 CV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En Le Mans, el equipo retoma sus alineaciones de tres pilotos. El #007 incluye a Ross Gunn, Harry Tincknell y Tom Gamble, todos brit\u00e1nicos, mientras que el #009 cuenta con Marco S\u00f8rensen, Alex Riberas y Roman De Angelis. Para la mayor\u00eda, ser\u00e1 su debut en la clase principal de la legendaria carrera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pesar de ser un programa joven, el Valkyrie ya ha demostrado fiabilidad con nueve llegadas en diez carreras. En WEC, ha mejorado constantemente desde su debut en Catar. En IMSA, fue el primer LMH en puntuar en su debut y ha terminado en el top 10 en cada carrera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ian James, director del equipo THOR, se\u00f1al\u00f3: \u201cNuestro objetivo en Le Mans es simple: terminar con ambos coches y conseguir puntos. Estamos al inicio de un proceso largo, pero cada carrera nos ense\u00f1a m\u00e1s sobre el auto y fortalece al equipo\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aston Martin tiene una historia rica en Le Mans, iniciada en 1928. Su victoria m\u00e1s recordada es la de 1959 con Carroll Shelby y Roy Salvadori en el DBR1. A lo largo de los a\u00f1os, ha contado con pilotos legendarios como Jim Clark, Stirling Moss y Bruce McLaren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En esta edici\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n compite el Vantage GT3, el auto de carreras m\u00e1s exitoso de Aston Martin, en b\u00fasqueda de su sexta victoria de clase. El equipo THOR, con Ian James, Zach Robichon y Mattia Drudi, busca redimirse tras el abandono de 2024. Por su parte, Racing Spirit of L\u00e9man debuta en la carrera con Derek De Boer, Eduardo Barrichello y el piloto oficial Valentin Hasse Clot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
