New partnership between Aston Martin and Glenfiddich

Aston Martin and Glenfiddich announce an international partnership that unites two British icons committed to excellence. The collaboration is being unveiled at Monterey Car Week (The House of Aston Martin), where both brands will celebrate their bond and a shared future of innovation and craftsmanship.

Glenfiddich debuts as Aston Martin’s official whisky on a global scale, expanding its relationship with the Aston Martin Formula One™ team. The partnership seeks to combine the pioneering spirit, timeless design and precision craftsmanship of the two houses through sensory experiences and limited edition launches.

Stefano Saporetti, Director of Brand Diversification at Aston Martin, highlights the parallels between the two firms: respect for heritage, dedication to craftsmanship and a balance between tradition and innovation. ‘This alliance allows us to shape a shared story through immersive experiences that connect with our customers,’ he says.

To commemorate the partnership, Glenfiddich presents a unique expression: a 1976 Single Malt, aged 48 years and finished in a European oak sherry cask specially crafted and selected by master distiller Brian Kinsman. The choice of this vintage refers to a defining decade for both brands: in the 1970s, Glenfiddich consolidated iconic elements of its identity and Aston Martin advanced in design and performance.

Brian Kinsman explains that the selection was based on both the vintage and the era it represents—the transformation of the mid-1970s—and details the process: initial maturation in a second-fill sherry cask and transfer to a 100-litre European oak cask made by one of their coopers. ‘Almost 50 years later, we honour that legacy by maintaining the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that defines Glenfiddich,’ he adds.

Glenfiddich 1976 (48.8% ABV) offers sweet red fruits, buttery puff pastry, soft spices and subtle hints of sorbet on the nose. On the palate, it has a complex structure: dry oak tannins, stewed fruit and toasted wood. The finish is long, with lingering sweet oak spices.

Claudia Falcone, Global Brand Director at Glenfiddich, points out that the collaboration extends beyond Formula One™ into the world of high-performance luxury vehicles. To celebrate this shared spirit, Glenfiddich will offer a pop-up tasting experience at The House of Aston Martin during Monterey Car Week, where the Valhalla — Aston Martin’s first plug-in hybrid supercar — will take centre stage, symbolising exclusivity, precision and vision, values it shares with Glenfiddich Vintage 1976.

The Glenfiddich 1976 edition will be extremely limited: only 50 bottles will be available worldwide through The Distillers Library and the Glenfiddich Distillery. This exclusive piece pays tribute to the craftsmanship and innovation that both houses embody.

Aston Martin and Glenfiddich promote responsible alcohol consumption and remind consumers that they should never drink and drive. Both brands hope that the partnership will open up new avenues to celebrate their shared heritage and explore future collaborations that unite tradition, design and performance. Upcoming initiatives will include exclusive editions and events in select global markets.
